By Kelly Photography is a strategy-led personal brand photography studio built exclusively for female founders, CEOs and creatives. Founded by Kelly Trivedy, a photographer and critical thinking consultant who has spent over thirteen years in education, the brand needed to reflect something rare: the point where visual storytelling and strategic business thinking meet. This wasn’t a studio that simply takes beautiful photographs. It was a business with a deeply considered methodology, and the brand had to communicate that from the first glance.

Challenge

The personal brand photography market is crowded with identities that feel interchangeable. Kelly’s offer is fundamentally different, strategy first, camera second, but the visual language available to her didn’t reflect that distinction. The challenge was to build a brand with genuine warmth for female founders, while carrying the editorial weight and credibility of a premium, intellectually-led studio. It also needed to feel deeply personal, unmistakably Kelly.

Solutions

We built an identity around a single guiding principle: that the brand should do the same thing Kelly does, help women be seen exactly as they are.

The Mark: The logomark draws the eye in before the mind catches up. A woman and a camera, woven into the letter K, not placed on top of it, but part of it. Psychologically, this kind of embedded symbolism creates a moment of discovery for the viewer: they see the logo, then they see it. That second look builds connection and memorability in a way a straightforward wordmark never could. It signals immediately, without a single word of copy, who this brand is for and who is behind it.

Colour: Deep burgundy, wine and champagne gold were chosen not just for their beauty but for what they communicate beneath conscious thought. Dark, rich tones signal expertise, depth and confidence, they ask to be taken seriously. The warmth of the gold and ivory stops the palette from feeling cold or corporate, creating the psychological balance Kelly needed: authoritative but approachable, premium but never intimidating.

Typography: The typeface pairing was selected to mirror Kelly’s dual identity, the creative and the intellectual. A classical serif carries the weight of credibility and editorial refinement. A clean modern companion keeps it accessible and grounded in the present. Together they speak to a woman who is both rigorous and warm.

The System: Every element was built to work together so that the brand feel is consistent across every single touchpoint, from the website to a social post to a Canva template. Consistency, in branding, is trust. And trust is what converts the right client.
